Alcumus has partnered with the University of South Wales (USW) to assist with its new venture: USW Exchange, based at USW’s Treforest Campus.
The new Alcumus Head Office’s close proximity to the USW Treforest Campus means that the company is in an ideal location to support USW Exchange.
This emerging opportunity is designed to facilitate collaboration by providing an inspirational setting to host businesses that wish to hold workshops, business activities, networking events and client meetings.
Alcumus has an ongoing relationship with USW, with around 12% of its employees having attended the institution. Martin Smith, Alcumus CEO, who last year received USW’s Distinguished Alumni Award, said:
“We are extremely proud to partner with USW, and pleased that we can contribute to the USW Exchange, including providing expert speakers on a wide range of business assurance and compliance risk management topics. Being a part of the USW Alumni, we see this is an ideal way for us to support the next generation of students as they make their way into a variety of businesses.”
Siwan Rees, Director of USW Exchange, commented on the new partnership:
“This partnership with Alcumus will help our primary aim, which is to support business growth while also delivering a unique student experience that gives companies access to future talent sooner than before, allowing companies to grow their own talent and skills.
“The response from the business community has already been very encouraging, as we all recognise the value of the entrepreneurial economy and the importance of support and guidance during those early days.”
Siwan Rees and Rachael Barker, Head of Alumni Relations and Development, recently attended the opening of the new Alcumus Head Office at Axys House, Parc Nantgarw, which was officially opened by His Royal Highness The Prince of Wales. His Royal Highness met USW Alumni and heard more about the USW Exchange and how Alcumus is supporting the initiative.
