A new membership body designed to represent the emergency evacuation sector has been launched by the Fire Protection Association (FPA).

The Emergency Evacuation Association (EEA)  will offer members publications, guidance and advice to safeguard the interests of organisations from all sectors and industries that have an interest or responsibility in emergency evacuation.

The EEA will provide a unified voice for the sector and will lobby alongside the FPA for safety standards to be improved, starting with demanding an standards for evacuation products to be introduced.

Members will be offered a range of benefits including e-learning courses, free attendance at events, monthly news emails and articles

FPA marketing manager Jimmy Phillips said: ‘We are excited to be launching the EEA as we’ve been approached by many people telling us there’s a huge interest in having a unified voice for the emergency evacuation sector. We’re delighted to be able to provide the industry with a one-stop-shop for best practice, guidance and lobbying.’
