Corinne Lamb – Alcumus Health & Safety and HR Advice LineCorinne Lamb

Corinne Lamb is the Head of Health and Safety Consulting at Alcumus. An expert in her field, Corinne’s expertise is derived from extensive experience across a wide range of industry sectors and organisations. Her role at Alcumus is to head up a team of competent, registered, knowledgeable senior health & safety consultants who provide good quality, sensible and proportionate advice to business and guidance on the reduction or elimination of workplace risks.

When it comes to health & safety there is no room for error or complacency. Failure to put in place sound policies and risk control measures can lead to prosecution, accidents incurring significant costs. These costs include company fines, downtime, reputational damage, absenteeism and also personal liability for company directors.

Whilst many organisations such as the HTA have a robust appreciation of health & safety risks, they do not always have the resource, time or qualifications to commit to delivering this service internally – that’s where an independent consultancy provider such as Alcumus fits in.

Alcumus is now working with the HTA to deliver a 24 hour health and safety telephone helpline to the HTA membership businesses. The consultancy service helps the members understand their legal obligations and provides practical safety advice to ensure that the businesses stay compliant. Alcumus will also deliver health & safety training to member organisations and undertake specific risk assessments such as fire or COSHH (Control of Substances Hazardous to Health) assessments.

The Alcumus consultancy team are all chartered members of IOSH (Institution of Occupational Safety & Health) and are registered on the OSHCR (Occupational Safety & Health Consultants Register).

Ultimately the Alcumus advice line helps the HTA in the following ways:

  • Avoid enforcement action including notices and fines
  • Prevent bad publicity and reputation damage
  • Reduce down time due to incidents and accidents
  • Improve efficiency and performance
  • Reduce absenteeism
  • Ensure continuity of business operations
