Overview of course

This qualification is designed for those preparing and handling food in a catering or retail setting.  It ensures that food handlers have independent verification of their food safety knowledge.  To comply with food safety law all food handlers must be trained to a level appropriate for their job. This qualification is designed for those with some experience in a food handling workplace.  Certificate holders have the knowledge to provide safe food in the food catering or retail sector. At the end of the training each delegate completes a multiple choice exam. This is returned to the CIEH for marking. Candidates who pass the exam receive a certificate from the Chartered Institute of Environmental Health.
