Job Title: Group Solicitor

Location: Cardiff, Parc Nantgarw – occasional travel may be required to other sites

Salary: Up to £45,000 per annum

Role Purpose:

As a Group Solicitor you will be required to provide reliable, accurate and commercially focused legal advice to the Alcumus Group of companies.

This role will support the Head of Legal to ensure that a first-class legal service is provided to support all business units under the Alcumus brand.

You’ll be proficient in operating in a timely, efficient and accurate manner whilst working in a fast-paced environment.

What we expect from a Group Solicitor:

  • Advise the Group on legal matters, with a particular emphasis on commercial contracts.

  • Engage with the business units and group support functions to build credibility and trust, whilst supporting them in addressing legal implications and compliance issues.

  • Negotiate and draft a wide range of commercial contracts and NDAs.

  • Support the Head of Legal in the GDPR compliance project.

  • Support the Head of Legal on resolving legal issues that face the business from time to time.

  • General legal research and legal administrative duties as required.

What our successful candidate is like:

  • A qualified solicitor in England & Wales with 1-3 years PQE

  • Knowledge and understanding of commercial contracts, IP/IT.

  • Up to three years post-qualified experience.

  • In-house experience is desirable but not essential.

  • Employment law and/or data protection law experience is desirable but not essential.

  • Excellent organisational and record keeping skills.

  • Attention to detail.

  • Strong commercial awareness, negotiation and problem-solving skills will also be necessary.

  • Strong communication skills and an ability to build strong relationships with key stakeholders.

  • Confident provision of timely and commercial legal advice to stakeholders to enable them to make accurate decisions.

  • Must show the ability and desire to “own a problem” and take responsibility for finding solutions.

  • Flexibility and ability to react quickly to changing priorities.

  • Proactive in approach to work.

This is a full-time position – however part-time would be considered for the right candidate.
